The New Year! Ain't it Freaky!

Okay so I totally fell off the face of the earth. This always happens. During this chilly northern winter, north of 54, there has been lots of excitement. In particular a dear friend took the plunge to open a cd/record store called Meow Records And what a fantastic store. I have bought so many great Cds, newer and older: ugly Casanova, swan lake, black mountain, destroyer, and someone still loves you Boris Yeltsin (to name a few).

So with that said: what is the bestest of the newest?

Cold War Kids
Okay - if you like modest mouse, white stripes, and franz ferdinand you will love this band. Their new CD "Robbers and Cowards" is absolutely ridiculously good, in its entirety.

Some Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin
This album is good. It took some warming up to for some songs, but others are brilliant. They captured some excellent moments in music. They have achieved some perfect pop moments. This album will get you singing and dancing:

What do I say. I think my love affair with Of Montreal corresponded with Of Montreal's front Man, Kevin Barnes', love life. When his relationship with his wife sucked so did his music; when he got divorced his music got great again. No shit! Check IT out!

PS..things that were disappointing are: New Shins, New Clap Your Hands, and if you haven't heard it yet, the new TV on the Radio---and maybe the new modest mouse? hmmm
